Before and After…A House Transformed

This project was quite unique because the house was added onto from all four sides and was completely renovated both inside and out. We worked with a design that took a basic 1970’s colonial that was not functional and totally converted the home. On one end of the house, we created a private guest suite with its own bathroom, perfect for visiting family and friends. At the other end of the house additional parking and storage were added to the existing garage. This also allowed a wonderful opportunity to create a master suite above, which became a sanctuary within the home, self sufficient with its master bathroom, a generous sitting area, a modest library, as well as boasting its own kitchenette.

The rear of the house was completely re–envisioned embracing an open plan bathed in natural light with vaulting ceilings, weatherproof skylights and warming supplemental lighting. From its living room to its kitchen through the family room, this inclusive space flows effortlessly from a stone hearth fireplace at one end, into a four seasons room with its own custom hearth fireplace at the other end of the home. Each of these connecting spaces flow naturally outside onto a new deck, an inviting pool area, as well as an incredible outdoor fireplace and dining area.

Throughout the home remodeling process the owner was able to customize all aspects of its design including kitchen and bath fixtures, masonry and tile, built in cabinetry, a stairway alteration, and custom moldings. This home was specifically realized to address the needs and lifestyle of the owner’s young, growing family.
